We haven’t yet seen too many reviews of ourWheelbarrow Books series, but were thrilled that Ray Walsh, owner of Curious Books in East Lansing and long time book reviewer for the Lansing State Journal chose Smuggling Elephants through Airport Securityby Brad Johnson for his book column on January 26.
“You’re better off not sitting down and reading these all at once -” Walsh writes. “but absorbing them slowly, like a tasty cup of coffee in the morning.” We couldn’t agree more, Ray.
The Center for Poetry opened in the fall of 2007 to encourage the reading, writing, and discussion of poetry and to create an awareness of the place and power of poetry in our everyday lives. We think about this in a number of ways, including through readings, shows, community outreach, and workshops. We are at work building a poetry community at MSU and in the greater Lansing area.
